Some of you may recognise me or know me personally. My name is Martin Shand and I have worked within the funeral industry for over 15 years.
My story begun when my grandfather passed away in April 2010. I was so inspired by the funeral director that looked after him and supported us, that after the funeral, I decided I wanted to give something back and become part of the industry.
I started as a chauffeur/bearer for a well-known funeral support company, covering all areas within the M25.
Soon after, I transitioned to a full-time position at a family-owned funeral directors in Southall.
I have spent the best part of 10 Years serving the local community and developing my skills and expertise. My role as a funeral director encompasses all aspects of the funeral service from the first call to conducting the funeral, and everything in-between.
The next chapter of my story is exciting for me and my family, as my three sons Harrison, Harley and Henry have shown a keen interest in joining the funeral industry and this is why Shand & Sons was launched back in July 2024.

For as long as I can remember I watched my Dad getting suited and booted for work - so smart and proud. I knew that as soon as I was old enough I wanted to join the funeral industry and follow in my Dads footsteps.
I have shown that whilst still young, I'm quick to learn and have a mature head upon young shoulders.
My morals and values are deep rooted and my natural instincts for working in the funeral trade are prominent and strong.
In my spare time I enjoy playing football and supporting West Ham United. I also enjoy cooking and creating new dishes.

Hi, my name is Harley Christie-Shand. I guess you would call me the middle child, although I am only 10 month's older than Henry.

In my spare time I enjoy gaming and playing Golf.
